YAPPI is an acronym which stands for Youth in Animation and Post-Production Initiative. It is one of Nigeria’s first and premier 3D Animation training programs that has been set up to empower youth who are interested in the animation industry and some other technology-related skills.
YAPPI is a full scholarship sponsorship program that is initiated by the Del-York Creative Academy in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation. The Del-York Creative Academy is one of Africa’s institutions that has set up an animation, media and film-making institute with the aim of sponsoring interested youths in free fully funded scholarships to learn these skills on a platter of gold.
The Del-York Creative Academy in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation have liaised with top experts in the creative fields of film-making that require animations like cartoons and other funny caricatures that can educate children and make people happy.
Their partner, MasterCard Foundation is a visionary organisation that always seeks to help young, vibrant and energetic youths in Africa to realise their potential and goals. The MasterCard Foundation wants a world where the young ones are included in the leadership of Africa and also an enabling environment to help them soar higher.
The YAPPI Specialty Courses
The YAPPI group has arranged the course in such a way that it can be achieved either in the short term or longer term. Both terms depend on the course that the candidate is studying. Some of the courses require a longer period to study while some other ones can be grasped within a space of three to four months.
The courses are divided into two which the candidates have to key into which are the online modules and the offline modules with a three-month introductory class depending on the course that is being studied and a six-month full immersion.
The following are the YAPPI Specialty Courses:
- 3D Production: YAPPI Group has put up 3D Production as one of the key skills that they want their candidates to engage in as a way of empowering the youth to be gainfully self-employed. 3D Animation Production mainly starts with an idea which is why it links well with other features attached to it such as story-telling and boarding to enable the candidate to have this creative idea to put animations into play. As animators, you also learn to breathe life into characters through traditional 3D computer animation, or even stop-motion techniques.
- Modelling: This facet involves the use of some creative materials to model toys and it will also feature qualified candidates to know how to make 3D printing. 3D modelling is a good idea for the candidates to venture into this area because it has a lot to be grabbed.
- Post-Production: This industry offers many exciting career opportunities for candidates to learn a lot about the production of videos and creative imaginations into live using various tools.
- VFX: YAPPI also offers training for students in the use of VFX (visual effects). It is one process of creating and integrating all your digital visual elements into live-action footage and animation. This will also help students upgrade or learn new skills in filmmaking and also in commercials and the advertising industry.
How To Register For YAPPI Online Course

How To Accept Offer and Join the YAPPI Telegram Community
Once the candidate’s request for the YAPPI scholarship application has been accepted, mail will be sent to your email address showing that you have been accepted into the Del-York Scholarship Program for 3D Animation in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation.
With this, you are only one step away from gaining access to your package on the Youth in Animation and Post-Productive Initiative program. To begin, you will have to sign into your account and click on the ‘Accept Offer’ within 24 hours of receiving the mail or else the slot will be given to another candidate.
Accepting the YAPPI Scholarship offer means that you are ready to embark on the life-transforming journey of 3D Animation and other programs that it offers. It also requires that the candidate is ready to be committed to the program and dedicate time for the sake of the program.
You can also as well log into your account and click on ‘Decline Offer’ if you are no longer interested in the program. You should be aware that you have to be decisive before concluding to take any action, especially declining the offer because it is not reversible.
In the meantime, the candidate will be invited to join the telegram group where all the accepted candidates form a group chat and some other basic introduction to the course is given by the administrators of the group.
